An Inside Job In Russian Plane Crash?

Thinking is increasingly moving to believing that the destruction of Russian Metrojet flight 9268, which broke apart and crashed in the Sinai Peninsula, was not due to a mechanical malfunction.

Investigators of the Russian plane crash in Egypt are “90 percent sure” the noise heard in the final second of a cockpit recording was an explosion caused by a bomb, a member of the investigation team told Reuters on Sunday.” (tinyurl.com/qzjtzjo)

After first downplaying the idea of terrorism, Russian sources are now indicating that they are leaning towards an inside job that downed the aircraft.

Investigators still have to complete their review of the plane’s black boxes and continue looking of any residues or other evidence of an explosion.

Catastrophe, Sabotage, or Something Else?

Russian Metrojet flight 9268 broke up in flight over Egypt 31 October 2015 killing all 224 on board. It left Sharm el Sheikh (SSH) on the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula at 05:49 hours local time (03:49 UTC), and contact was lost at about 06:13 hours. Though Russian authorities have been quoted as saying that there was no mechanical or pilot failure, the cause is still under investigation.
